Two tools, one engine, built by a guitarist who plays in drop tunings. jam keeps what you play when you jam. tab helps you hear out songs that have no tab. Neither pretends to replace your ears.
Plug in your guitar, get an amp on your headphones, start the drums and play. jam records the whole session and writes the notation while you play: chords, strokes up and down, runs. Afterwards you mark the good part and export it with the tempo map. It lands on the grid in your DAW.
Play it in or upload it. tab pulls the guitar out of the mix and shows you candidates on the fretboard, each with a confidence. You correct it bar by bar and export to Guitar Pro or MusicXML. Built for drop tunings, power chords and distortion, where the one-click services give up.
A perfect transcription is impossible. Timing, attack, legato, feel and distortion do not reduce to "the correct note". So we do not promise one. tab suggests, you decide. It saves the searching; your ears do the rest.
Every change to the engine runs against a ground-truth corpus of 70 songs before it ships. When a feature has not been measured on real material yet, the interface says so instead of hiding it behind a promise.
Your tab is a file you export, Guitar Pro or MusicXML. Your jam stays on your machine; only what you choose to export leaves it. No tab archive, no sharing on our side.
